Pallasites are one of the rarest types of meteorites on Earth, making up less than 2% of all known falls. They’re a blend of nickel-iron metal and gem-quality olivine crystals (peridot) — so in other words, part metal, part gemstone, and entirely from space.
When sliced and polished, the olivine crystals appear as translucent green or golden “windows” set in a shiny metallic matrix. Under light, they almost glow, giving the impression of something crafted rather than naturally formed.
